7 New Recipes for 2019.

Gosh it is great to alive.
If you are entertaining a lot at the moment it is a great time to try some new recipes.
Today I have handpicked seven of my favourites. Have a look and pick one main and one dessert to try this week. Here are seven of my favourites to try from around the web. Note that some of the desserts are a bit festive and naughty and not but I would make all the time. But we are all on holidays So it’s time to let loose for a few days.
Ain’t nobody got time to be reducing balsamic.
Roasted Whole Cauliflower. This was an absolute hit. It was so good and so easy that even Mark could make it (and make it he did!). We coated ours in coconut oil and for our spice rub we used Paprika and Salt. That was it! Also absolutely delicious with some natural yoghurt on the side or coconut yoghurt if you are plant based. This recipe is a winner trust me. Mark ate an entire one in almost one minute…
Stuffed Sweet Potato. In Darwin our close friend and house mate was proposing. He planned an incredible day out and proposed and while he was away Mark and myself prepared the house with a candle lit dinner for them to celebrate together. The meal we made was stuffed potatoes. Whenever we make these it reminds me of them. This is so easy, and you can choose your fillings and toppings according to what you like. This link gives you some new ideas as to what to stuff with. We eat the black bean and chipotle. Now is perfect time to make this with all the festive left overs!
Thai Coconut Soup. The ingredient list may seem complicated but I promise you it is not. And you cannot stuff this recipe up. If you don’t want to touch or peel prawns (like me) either get some pre peeled ones or substitute tofu instead! It is summer but stay inside and turn up the aircon. It is worth it. Once you have made it once trust me, you will make it again and again.
Banana Cake. I had to selfishly add this recipe as I bought 2kg of bananas for one dollar and hence was looking for some recipes. Usually I make a healthy version but as we are in the festive season and entertaining a lot I wanted a recipe that was decadent and delicious. Gosh this one was so incredible! So you know I made my own buttermilk using a cup of whole milk and adding a table spoon of white vinegar. This is such a delicious recipe. Seriously. Must make everybody.
Lemon Cake. Lemon cake is Mark’s favourite so I had to make this for him this week. This recipe is easy and simple and it comes together in a few minutes. If entertaining I make double the syrup and add some extra to each slice and serve with some coconut yoghurt or ice cream on the side.
I realise that all of these are not completely in line with my plant based philosophy. However this festive season sometimes you have to live life on the edge… For a week or two anyway!
