What is your perfect Day?
If you have ever hung around Mark or myself you will know that we LOVE to play connection games. It is one of our favourite ways to connect on a deeper level. A dinner party with friends is the perfect place to play as you have the space, time and desire to go deeper than superficial conversation. Connection games provide the scaffolding to create a non-threatening environment to do this.
Here are a few new games Mark and I have had fun with lately.
- 1. What is one character or trait that you noticed about the person to your right that you love? Then ask a question about how they obtained that value in their life.
Mark I love how you listen to understand. When I speak to you, I see you engaging deeply in the conversation, I know that what I am saying matters to you and I feel heard and understood. How have you developed this in your life?
- 2. For Dinner with Couples: Ask the spouse “What is the bravest thing you have ever seen you partner do?”
- 3. What has consumed your thoughts the most this week and why?
- 4. What is one movie, podcast, or book that changed the way you view the world and why?
- 5. If you could have and do whatever you wanted tomorrow, describe your perfect day?
Play one or two of these at your next dinner party, coffee date or business meeting.
You are deeply loved and richly cherished.

Wink: My perfect day tomorrow would be this.
I would wake up in New York in an opulent Hotel with an equipped 24 hour state of the art gym and spa. I would get up first thing and go to the gym. I would listen to podcasts while being surrounded with fit New Yorkers. Afterwards I would lie in the sauna.
I would go back to my opulent Hotel room with my husband, get dressed in high heels, shorts and an awesome blazer and walk to a café where we would have our devotional time. I would have a delicious New York Breakfast of dragon fruit and strawberries, coconut yoghurt, and fairy floss. The primary colour of my breakfast would be pink.
At about 10:30am I would have a date with Oprah. We would connect on a deep level, she would fall in love with me like a daughter and we would become friends forever. We share a pink cup cake. We exchange numbers.
Mark and I would venture out to find another hip café to rest for while I relive my date with Oprah. We would eat Poke Bowels. New York Style. (which essentially means more expensive with extra mayo).
Then my husband takes me shopping and buys me an opulent Handbag. We decide to go and lay in Central Park and watch people while I commentate out loud.
Oprah texts me. She misses me already.
Then we go for a huge walk around New York while I wear my new over the shoulder handbag. We walk to dinner where we meet 6 of my best friends at the newest Wine bar in New York, that has soft but un intrusive live music. We have the best meal and wine of our lives.
We eat, laugh, play connection games.
Mark cries because he is having so much fun.
I get a missed call from Oprah.
Then Mark and I go back to our New York apartment for special marital fun
I am in bed by 930pm!!
Ah Shucks I’m in New York let’s make that 10pm.
