4 Things For Your Personal Growth!

Four things for your Personal Growth!

Beloved! Are you intentionally pursuing personal growth?

  • What are you reading?
  • What podcasts are you listening to?
  • What videos are you watching?
  • Who are you being mentored by?
  • And how are you applying what you have learned?

Every week I try to listen to 2-3 podcasts. I aim to listen to an audio book a fortnight. And have virtual mentors like John Maxwell and Rachell Hollis, as well as mentors who I am accountable to each month.

“If you want to reach your goals and fulfil your potential, become intentional about personal growth. It will change your life” – John Maxwell

Each of you are highly motivated people. Many of you are already leaders. You have goals and dreams that you are working on. No matter where you are in life, I can be intentional about personal growth. To learn more about this read this article I wrote on Personal Growth.

Here are some highlights of what  I have been learning this week:

  • 1. Podcast

Alden Mills- 4 Leadership Lessons from a Navy Seal Commander.

This was from a Former Navy Seal Commander Alden Mills who joined to share four powerful leadership principles. He learned this wisdom the hard way, but articulates it in a way to make it practical for us all. Loved it.

Also Loved:

This was from Reshma Saujani who is the author of the new book ‘Brave Not Perfect.’ Which was a New York times best seller.  She is the founder of Girls Who Code  which is leading a movement to inspire, educate and equip young woman. Her work has impacted and empowered 100’s of thousands of girls. I was incredibly inspired by this woman and saw a lot of my own journey in her story.

  • 3. Video

Loved this video by Jordan Peterson on How to really listen to someone.  It only goes for ten minutes. And the first 4 mins blew my grid. My favourite quote. “If you are having a conversation with someone and it is dull, it’s because you are stupid! If you are really communicating with someone, it would be anything but boring.” Have a listen. It is worth the ten minutes. I listened to it twice already. And it won’t be the last time.

  • 4. Book

Yep still frothing on John C Maxwell The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. Without doubt the best book I have read all year. I’ve Been listening to the audio, but am buying the hard copy to read it all over again.

Hope by Tim Costello.

The CEO of world vision, Tim has seen and worked within the worst kind of poverty, war, and corruption around the world. Yet in this book Tim Costello reveals the stories of hope he has encountered in the most devastating circumstances.  A book that shows in the darkest moments, the best that can be found in people. It is a celebration of humanity. And the importance of hope. They are short stories. Loving it.

Two Readers comments.

Says Emily on Personal Growth.

I feel very inspired but equally challenged. I just read proverbs 3:26- ‘ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.’ May we all rise above complacency & procrastination to consider the life we’ve been given! I went to Da Vinci exhibition the other day & was blown away by the number of achievements that man excelled in! Artist, designer, inventor was only a few of his job descriptions. He also designed war weapons, wrote songs, considered city planning for the future. I was mesmerised by his quotes and took photos of nearly all of them! Here’s a good one that fits here… ‘It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.’

Says Neola on Generosity

I bought 2 bunches of flowers today. 2 girls ages around 10-12 hopped on clearly in distress. I’ve discovered they just got expelled from school because they stood up to a bully and the sister tried to protect her sibling. I knew the flowers were meant for them. They both had tears in their eyes, and it made me so happy to be a part of their world for that train ride.

That’s it from me beloveds! Please continue to write in your comments.

Have an incredible week! And please write in what you are learning, growing, thinking…let’s create a culture of personal growth together!

We are a tribe that reign in life in every area!

You are deeply loved and richly cherished.

Christine Greenwood.

Reign in life.
