Beloveds! Sure I have been married for 10 years, but hot date ideas are still a VERY relevant topic for me.
Having fresh date ideas and fresh conversation starters for your dates is something that is completely relevant to every person, whether you are single, newly dating or have been in a relationship forever…
You don’t have to have a lot of money, just time and an imagination! You don’t have to have a partner; you can do these with your girlfriend or boyfriend. Here are some of my favourite day ideas and fresh questions for new conversations.
Seriously there is nothing better than a day at the beach. Even on the drive to the beach I find myself unwinding. If you live in Brisbane you are literally an hour away from the Gold or Sunshine Coast. The Gold Coast is usually my go to. Our favourite thing to do a big walk along the beach. Here are some of our favourite walks. I always leave my phone in the car and Greenie and I find ourselves swept into our own little world. Afterwards there are so many amazing places to eat. Cardamom Pod is a vibrant healthy option, and Elk at Broad beach are two of my favourites. Seriously Instagram worthy. The Paddock Bakery has lines going outside the door. And I can see why! We tried it’s purple toast with roasted beetroot and poached egg with goats milk feta and honey roasted walnuts. Outstanding. We also ate their crème brule cronuts….. Still recovering. Coffee is on point as well.
When is the last time you have been in your city? Seriously I love to spend the afternoon at Southbank. There is a beautiful walk at South bank that we do along the river and through the city. It is a hive of activity. People are jogging, walking, and rock-climbing at Kangaroo Point. There are STACKS of tourists posing with their selfie sticks. Always so much fun to watch. At the end we finish with a drink along the Southbank River. Here are some of our favourite places to drink while we watch the interesting people walk by. Stokehouse , where everyone is always super lively and well dressed! The drinks are fancy and I like to pretend I am grown up and super important while lounging on the comfortable couches and looking out over the River. Also if you want to treat yourself you have to eat here and get the Bombe for dessert…. Think White chocolate parfait, strawberries and toasted meringue. Outrageous. Barbossa bar is also a fun place for a drink.
There are SO many interesting things to do around Southbank. Events are always one. People are always around. There are markets on a Sunday. And at the lagoon there are free aqua aerobics at 9.30 am with an over energetic Latino instructor. So if you run out of things to say to each other you can always watch people and laugh together. People are so funny. Especially after a drink or two.
This is actually my favourite thing. I love to pack a picnic lunch and go for a day. My favourite walk is the Springbrook National Park walk. The walk itself is truly wonderful. On the way home there is a little fudge and ice-cream place which is run by the cutest lady that makes her own fudge. RECOMMEND! Greenie and I have had some of the best conversation on our bush walks. Noosa National Park is another place where we LOVE to go. It is where we had our honeymoon so it is extra special. You can walk around the headlands and swim in the pristine ocean. Than afterwards? You can go to Noosa and get an ice-cream from The Happy Pops and watch all the ladies in white. VERY FUN. If your up for a challenge. Climbing Mt Beerwah is an epic climb. The view from the top is spectacular.
Having good conversations are so important on dates. Dates are such a great time to deeply connect and reflect together. Sometimes you just need some question to get you started. OR you might be on your first date and just getting to know each other. Here are some questions which may help to get the conversation go beyond the superficial.
