Beloveds! How has your week been?
Mine has been an epic week of long shifts at the hospital. Seriously. I am on a surgical rotation and I didn’t know it was possible to work so many hours in a week. But clearly it is. It is amazing what the body can do when it doesn’t have a choice. And surgeons do it every day of their life… They are an incredible bunch of people.
In other news here are some things that I have been loving in the midst of it.
- 1. Movie
Amazing Grace the movie?!! This is giving me Goosebumps. It is apparently one of the greatest gospel performances you’ll ever see. As soon as I can I will be there. I promise you.
- 2. Recipe
Momofuku’s Soy Sauce Eggs. Was one of Food52’s most famous recipes of all time. And I know why. Sweet, salty and creamy all in one. This is seriously the best thing ever. You can make a heap of them and eat them as a snack or add them to meals. I think they are good enough for dinner parties. They are so luscious.
- 3. Podcast
Simplify your life and Leadership. By Craig Grochel, possibly the greatest speaker on leadership. This podcast was so incredible helpful about how to cut the ‘slack’ and practical ways to make the MOST of your time. At the moment, working around the clock and still having margin for relationships, writing and ministry, this has been VERY relevant for me.
- 4. Video
Sheep Among Wolves. This is the most incredible film about the revival that is happening in the middle east. Which has one of the fastest growing rates of Christianity in the world. This movement is being lead primarily by woman. I found it mesmerising. When the woman become Christians, they are at risk of prison, rape and murder. Yet they are the most courageous, dedicated, and gentle leaders. The movie talks about the stories of these dedicated woman. It talks about the state of wars in the middle east and political and governmental issues.
While I definitely don’t agree with all the theology mentioned in the movie, my mind was Blown away with what is happening in the middle east. I seriously haven’t stopped thinking about it. Please watch it! It was the highlight of my week.
You will be blown away.
That’s all from me.
You are deeply loved and richly cherished.
