Highlights – Morrish Bakery Goods, a Book Blowing my Grid, My first Taste of Fresh Pasta & a Song On Repeat

  • 1 – The Best Kouign Amann and Jam Donut of our Entire Lives. Thank You Agnes Bakery

So this weekend on Sunday, after a morning of study, Mark and I set off for Agnes Bakery. I heard about these guys inspiring story in this story of the weekend edition. These resilient chef’s and business owners bounced back with COVID-19 to produce a pop-up Bakery/ deli and wine house. And it has been going crazy… I mean the baked goods have been selling out by 10.30 am! It has created a buzz around Brisbane so Sunday Greenie and I set out to see what the fuss was all about.

We had the Kouign Amann/ freeze-dried raspberry and buttercreamWe also had the Jam Donut. Honestly, I can’t tell you how incredible they were.

Prior to going, I thought people were out of their mind for lining up for 1-2 hours. And now? Gosh, I would wait all day. We will be back. Now we know what the French are on about.

I know, I know, I am obsessed with this book. I talked about it last week in Up close with the Greenies. I wrote a whole article on it this week too. But I have to say it again. Limitless is blowing my grid. Already I am seeing the benefits in my reading, comprehending, memory and beliefs. If you want to increase your intelligence, please get into it! Lifechanging stuff about your brain.

My gorgeous Italian workmate whipped up some fresh pasta and brought some to work for me. Greenie’s all-time favourite comfort food is Spaghetti Bolognese. I indulged him. We even bought legitimate parmesan. Yep, that’s right. I braved a night of snoring for him to have his comfort food. There was something oddly sweet about cooking my man his favourite childhood food, and the fresh pasta made ALL the difference in the world. If you can get your hands on some I HIGHLY recommend it. There is a great recipe by Jamie Here.

Spag Bowl. It is a firm family favourite for everyone. Even I, as Asian as you can get, have warm family memories around the good ole spag bowl (of course ours was served with a side of chilli). Greenie said it was one of the highlights of his week. And watching his sheer delight while he ate it made it one of mine.

  • 4 – SONG

And here is my favourite song. The Blessing, sung around the world from worshippers. In Zimbabwe, In Spanish In English… Oh goodness. I spent a chunk of my evening just revelling in this. Have it playing in the background in your house. It is mesmerizing. Our brothers and sisters around the world declaring God’s blessing over our families, and their country and our nations. POWERFUL.

And I love you! Each of you my beloved readers.

You are my highlight.

Speaking of Highlights. Are you watching Up close – with the Greenwoods? Our video on our favourite resource, our challenge/question for each other and our thought for the week. Check out my FB page for these!

That’s it from me.

You are deeply loved and richly cherished.

Own Your Health – Changing the way you Think, Eat and Live

Wink: I think I need a puppy. Seriously it is killing me. I’ve grown up around dogs. And I think I just need one. I don’t think living in a one-bedroom apartment should stop me. And I think that we should just try it and see if it works. And if it doesn’t, well we will face that problem then. I don’t think we need to agonise over EVERY decision. Sometimes we should just MAKE one. Spontaneous like. Life is for living. And for owning puppies when we feel like it. And I feel like it now.

This is not me passive-aggressively venting at my conservative stuck in the mud husband who won’t let me get a puppy.
